He is on the couch, I'm running

Hi all,

I used to run a lot and still cycle, but as I have moved through my 40s I've put on weight. I'm 48 with exercise induced arthritic knees, so I am trying this with no idea if I'll get to 5k. Just finished the third run of week 2 and I'm enjoying it. Oddly though today felt like a struggle, whereas the two runs completed earlier in the week felt really ok.

That's my progress.

My old doggy Ted is occupying the couch in my absence!

Well done Vicki, you will find it gets easier as you progress through the programme, keep posting, we like to know how you are doing. Looks like Ted is happy staying on the couch. 😊

Slow and steady does it and very well done you!

Keep it relaxed, breathe normally, listen to your body and if you feel the need, take an extra rest day :) Ted can share the sofa :)

Awww Ted. He makes the couch look very appealing :)

Love Ted, he clearly hasn't kicked the couch....

I think at fourteen and half he is destined to remain on the couch but 10yrs ago I used to run 5 miles each morning with him and his brother. His brother was always more enthusiastic than Ted who is half Labrador, half sloth.
