Hello there, I haven't written on this forum for quite a long time (I did Couch to 5k 3 and a bit year's ago) and I'm sure the vast majority of you are new and weren't on the Forum back then.
I'm a 50 year old asthma sufferer and prior to doing it the first time I hadn't done any exercise really in 30 years.
Anyhow, back then I got through it in the 9 weeks, pushed on and broke 10k a couple of months later and got to the point where I did last years Great North Run in 2 hours 10 minutes, faster than I ever thought I could do by far.
However since that point I have really let things slide, have barely run and am probably as unfit as I was before I started first time.
2 days after my 50th birthday and looking at the expanding waistline, it's time to start running again.
So out I went this afternoon and did Week 1 Run 1 again, and it certainly showed how far my levels have fallen as even this was quite hard.
However, having done the programme before I know exactly what a miracle it is. I will keep you all updated on my progress and I'm very happy if you want to message me to share my experiences and maybe give you a bit of advice if you are having any doubts about your ability to get through it.
Run happy, run safe.

I am very well and enjoying getting back to running after a break of nearly a year with a knee injury...........I found this really good little training plan called C25k.............
Hi Chris we’re similar 48yr old asthmatic who tried CouchTo5 3 yrs ago but unlike you, I never finished. Your txt makes me think it must be worth it. I’m wk2 run1 and hoping we both make it to the end
Hey bonnie lad ! Great to see you back👏👏👍. I wondered where you had got too. Anyway you’ll soon be smashing 10ks , half marathons again and marathons. 😀😀
I’m still running and running three runs a week. I’m running a10k in October Hereford running festival . It should have been in May but was postponed for obvious reasons. Anyway gives me more time to practice. I did run 10k on my treadmill last Monday 87mins. For me I thought that was ok especially since I hadn’t ran 10k for ages. However I’m hoping to maybe reduce that time🤣🤣
Anyway I digress. Good to see you back. How is Dinnington village ? Haven’t been back for years.😀😀
