I am so happy. I am pleased with myself. I feel like everybody else who says I never thought I could do it but guess what 'I never thought I could do it' and I did. This evening I have ran for 20 whole minutes, yes I did say 20 whole minutes. I thought about this run a few times today whilst at work and questioned whether I could actually do this. But without hesitation and remembering some of the advice I've had over the weeks, I got myself ready as soon as I got home and made my way to my special place ( I think of the dirty slippy muddy brook at the back of my house with affection) I popped Michael on or Mr Smooth as he's been referred to and he told me I could do it. He told me it was just a mind thing, he said my body could do it I just needed to tell my mind, so I did and with body and mind both believing we accomplished the 20 minutes. Sorry for ranting I'm just so darn pleased. So that's W5R3 done, roll on week 6. And to all the peeps in week 1 and 2 this is totally doable. ππππ½ππ½
Happy is an understatement, relieved, shocked,... - Couch to 5K
Happy is an understatement, relieved, shocked, surprised they all work but I'm sticking with happy π
Was there yesterday, still grinning today. Supposed to be runway tomorrow but I have to spend the day in London so I may or may not be able to run. But looking forward to the 25min run at the end of the week.
Wow. I can't think past running for more than a minute! You must be so proud of yourself. Congratulations ππΌ
It's a wonderful feeling isn't it, savour every second you damn well deserved after all the hard work and dedication you've put in! The only way is up! Good luck with the rest.
If I could play the trumpet I would play a fanfare for you. πΊ πΆ
Well done! ππ½
Us Smoothies, as we are officially known, put our running health in Mr Smooth's hands and he helps get us there. But it was actually your legs, guts, head and heart that did the run. So blooming well done you.
Yahoooo, well done this is a real game changer for you as having done this the rest just follow on
It is... you are doing just fine... slow and steady!
Well done ππΌ
I know Mr Smooth would be able to talk you through it but credit where credit is due-you're the one who ran it and for that you deserve a huge 'well done' ππ
Whoop!! Well done!!! Great feeling isnβt it?? πππ
Well done. Enjoy the feeling x
There is a mantra that I go by, it kicked in after W5R3:
If I can run for 20 minutes then I can run for 25,
If I can run for 25 minutes then I can run for 28,
If I can run for 28 minutes then I can run for 30.
Week 5 run 3 is a psychological test, the program prepares your body for it in the runs prior to it, the fact people look at the 2x 8 minute runs in W5R2 and then see the 20 minutes in run 3 and say they can't do it, it's a big jump, etc. Once you break that psychological barrier the rest of the program is laid out in front of you, it's still a challenge but that's where the mantra comes in.
Congrats on breaking the barrier.
