This has been a kind of tough running week. Post Grad has challenges, they’re just different to the programme challenges. It’s not about finding the motivation, it’s more about finding the flow and making running simple and just what you do.
All of this week I have felt...well putting it out there “fat”! 🙁 And with all this running, I thought that would keep a spring in my step, but what it really gave me this week was a chance to stop and appreciate what this body can do!! I am pleased that, not running today, did not even enter my head. I mainly thought that it was going to be a hard slog before every run, but not “if” I should go. That I’m finding pretty extraordinary 😁. I’ve slayed those gremlins all week and I hope they take heed for next week too! ⚔️ 💪🏽 🤨
Decided as I was going to do intervals, the flat surface would be best. So I go to Little Park. Guess who I saw again too? Bionic pensioner giving me her slow motion run again! She’s lovely and smiley, but I was slow jogging on the interval when I saw her. Oh well....🤷🏽♀️, “good morning” (thinking 💭 there’s time to breeze past you like a whirlwind yet lady! ). Today I did intervals one slow, two speed. 2.77km in 20 minutes! And in my shorts Flaraflarkin!! 🙌🏽 😁
I came home from this very hot and hard run and looking in the mirror, notice that I’m dripping everywhere like my boys do, but felt noticeably strong. I’m quite proud of that. I think if I can keep it up, I may be able to take up the invite to run with them one day. For now though, I’m just doing my thing!! This is what I do! I’m a runner!! Yes....I’m a runner!! 😁🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Happy running Runners! Keep going and have fun!❤️

Yaay Myrar! That’s brilliant!! Nothing wrong with taking a while it’s all about getting out there and doing your thing for you over and over!! Amazing! Great job! 😉❤️
So glad to have you back Sallenson! 😍 Slow and steady feels great too! I’ve done a few of those myself! Trying not to push too hard and be patient. 😁❤️
After the last, Lord knows how many, blogs you do, my mind is coming into shape. You encourage me and many other people to be joyful when running.
If I hadn't been out running this morning I'd feel like doing it again.
Aah Gazloc that’s so sweet! Thank you! It feels better out than in. So I’m grateful for the opportunity to share what’s on my mind and for all the support and encouragement that everyone gives to me! I hope it does help others to understand if they feel like I do at any time, they’re not the only one! ❤️
Are you going to do bridge to 10k? Or are you doing more 5k parkruns? Just asking as I somehow got on that site by a huge mistake and saw someone celebrating their graduate 10.
Ooh MV? 🤔 I haven’t got a 10k goal in mind yet. My current goal is to make running the norm. Perhaps today I have to recognise that has actually been achieved. I haven’t joined the Bridge to 10k group, so I don’t know anything about the programme. I’m on holiday towards the end of next week and of course I’ll be packing my kit 😉! I’ll probably give some thought to the 10k when I get back. Maybe another programme is what I need. 🤷🏽♀️😁❤️
I crazily signed up for a fun run in September omg!!!😮. Hope to be able to write about my fun run, so look out for this. By then I would be at week 8 /9. What have I done!!!!
Fantastic MV! I did the same after W1. I’ve signed up for Prospect Charity Run the Rainbow event on 8th September! I did my first Parkrun at the same place last week and it was just a dream that I might be able to run the whole way come that time. I’m now sooooooo looking forward to it! My youngest and I are running that one in memory of my brother! You will be amazing MV! It’s a great goal to have. ❤️
You’ve got so much energy Fabulous! Where do you get it from?!
I have to say, I love seeing the sweat dropping off me when I get home, it makes me feel like I’ve really worked for it. Lifting the damp running gear into the washing machine and proudly displaying it on the washing line afterwards, with it saying - ‘Look what I’ve just done!’ 😁
And I can highly recommend running with your boys, it just gives you that extra push and the minutes fly by as you chat together. Happy running 🤗😁
Thank you so much TailChaser! Energy wasn’t easy to find this week, but the will was still on point! Here’s to super energy next week, as it’s holiday time!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️
Thanks Mike. It feels pretty much like the other runs! It’s a challenge, but something also eases as you go along and you’re preparing for the next speed increase. It feels great when you hear that unexpected finish line. I darent look beforehand mind, for fear of thinking about the challenge to get to the end, rather than just that bit of the run! Mystery and element of surprise is my mind weapon!! Gremlins may stir, but continue to sleep! ⚠️ 😂❤️
💪👊 bossing it Fabulous! Your gremlins sound a bit like I felt yesterday before my run, and I felt like you did today at the end 😁 Glad you are getting stronger - we’ve got this 🤘
Yes we do Equi!! 😁😁 I’ll be joining you again at a Park run soon too, when it naturally falls on a Saturday. Hope your run went well yesterday! I’m sure it did! 💪🏽❤️
Yes, really well thanks! I was testing out a slightly faster pace and managed to keep it up, apart from km #4 because we ran the reverse direction and it was incline all the way up that back straight 😱 🤣
I have found post grad motivation harder but I’m now a couple of weeks behind you because of holiday and laziness. I’m so glad I went out this morning as I’ve missed you lot and catching up with your progress - love hearing how well you’re doing!
Aah it’s not laziness Southlundon! 🤗 It’s letting it flow. I think it’s a bit like passing your driving test and then being allowed to go out on the road on your own. You get so used to the direction and you know exactly how long every run is going to be. Then, all of a sudden you’ve passed and you’re free to go it alone, but you now choose when and where you want to go! Funny how choice can have you a bit topsy turvy! But I remind myself that choosing to go out and see how it goes is a success too!! Whenever we get out there, it’s a win! ❤️
Hey LoungeLizaard 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽 Thank you! I went to Portugal last year, it is beautiful and yes it’s hot!! I bet it’s even hotter there this year with the heatwave, I can’t imagine what that must feel like.
Yes you definitely are a runner Fabulous! It's a routine part of your life now, and it won't be long before you are running with those boys of yours. Well done you and just keep on keeping on! 👍
Thanks Little-runner! Me and my youngest are doing the Charity Run together in September, I’ll probably wait until then and aim to leave him for dust!! 🤣🤣🤣 Oh well....a girl can dream! 😉 You keep on keeping on too!! We got this! ❤️
