Hello Runners
This has been a kind of tough running week. Post Grad has challenges, they’re just different to the programme challenges. It’s not about finding the motivation, it’s more about finding the flow and making running simple and just what you do.
All of this week I have felt...well putting it out there “fat”! 🙁 And with all this running, I thought that would keep a spring in my step, but what it really gave me this week was a chance to stop and appreciate what this body can do!! I am pleased that, not running today, did not even enter my head. I mainly thought that it was going to be a hard slog before every run, but not “if” I should go. That I’m finding pretty extraordinary 😁. I’ve slayed those gremlins all week and I hope they take heed for next week too! ⚔️ 💪🏽 🤨
Decided as I was going to do intervals, the flat surface would be best. So I go to Little Park. Guess who I saw again too? Bionic pensioner giving me her slow motion run again! She’s lovely and smiley, but I was slow jogging on the interval when I saw her. Oh well....🤷🏽♀️, “good morning” (thinking 💭 there’s time to breeze past you like a whirlwind yet lady! ). Today I did intervals one slow, two speed. 2.77km in 20 minutes! And in my shorts Flaraflarkin!! 🙌🏽 😁
I came home from this very hot and hard run and looking in the mirror, notice that I’m dripping everywhere like my boys do, but felt noticeably strong. I’m quite proud of that. I think if I can keep it up, I may be able to take up the invite to run with them one day. For now though, I’m just doing my thing!! This is what I do! I’m a runner!! Yes....I’m a runner!! 😁🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Happy running Runners! Keep going and have fun!❤️
