So W8 R3 made for an interesting one this morning! Having just moved house, I'm trying to discover new jalking routes and decided to try out a route along the canal today. What I didn't bank on (no pun intended) was how narrow & muddy it would be in parts! Unfortunately 10 minutes in a cyclist came hurtling towards me on a very narrow section, so I had to stop & basically stand in a bush so he could get past. Never mind I thought, I'll carry on, which I did until I hit a large patch of mud. So i then skidded towards the edge of the canal where a Swan had his beady eyes on me 😳so again I had to stop to regain my balance & gingerly walk round the mud to safer ground. I tried to up my pace for the remainder, in an attempt to balance out the stops. This seems to have worked according to robot map my run lady who said my pace was the same as my previous 2 runs, a sluggish but steady 7.52 per km. (unless the slide in the mud added some speed 😂)
Im not sure what I do now? I think the two stops between them totalled 60-90 seconds. Should I class it as completed and go onto w9 or redo the run? What would you do?

well you are an inspiration Oldfloss so that suits me fine! Although I'm starting to wonder if I'm really destined for rural country life, it's a bit of a change from where we were living before!
I think you will get used to it... a few scares, from, startled pheasants..to the odd frog jumping round and in my case a very surprised badger.. these are the things you will learn to love
Seriously... there is some glorious running ahead of you...you are in the fortunate position of watching the year as it runs through the season, close up and personal...
Really, it truly is magical...and this time of the year...my favourite, despite the muddy bits is mind blowing... watching the colour change and feeling that slight chill in the air, as the Autumn gradually and beautifully, makes its entrance through the front door as the Summer, leaves, slightly blousey and bedraggled, through the back
