Just looked at W5 - cripes!!!!

Just made the mistake of looking ahead at week 5 runs. Thought it would be 3*5 minute runs. But it isn't!!!

Thought the 20 minute run would be a few weeks off. Blimey - need to brace myself!

It is not as bad as you think! Go for it and sure you will be fine.

Hey Adele, you will be fine! We all went through that 'scary' jump :)

It's simple. Make sure you are well hydrated the day before, sleep well if you can (l never can, lol) and take it slow, gentle and easy. And then slow it down a bit. It's only 20min, it will go sooner than you think. AND you will get the buzz afterwards as a freebie!

Let us know!

Hi . Done wk5r2 and doing run 3 tomorrow. when I looked at wk 5 in Wk3 I nearly packed up and stayed at home, but this program is tremendous and builds you up to it. Take it slow and steady. Listen to advice of some of more experience runners on here (not me) and you will be surprised How you adapt to it.

I just keep telling myself how daunting 90 seconds was just three weeks ago, and now we're both running (or in my case slowly stumbling) through 3,5,3,5!! Never thought I'd manage that, so, like some devotee of an American TV Evangelist, I'll believe in the programme and let Sarah Milican guide me through. We can do it! :)

Run 3 of week 5 is mainly down to your mindset. The training will have brought your body to this point but you need to believe you can do it!

I looked ahead and panicked then looked on here and saw all the advice and support the more experienced runners give. I'm not saying the run wasn't tough but I did it and now I'm 1 run away from graduating!

Just go for it!!

Thanks all - it is a bit daunting. Going to plan a route and make sure it's very very flat!!

I'm going to stick with the program and give it a go.

You are ready for it, run the route and the time in your head and the legs will follow. mrrun is right, we did it you will too.

BTW the grin is absolutely the best, also a lot of us seemed to re-enact the famous When Harry Met Sally scene, when we did it. Just warning you....

Hey, hang on,I didn't do THAT scene. People say my grin is like Jack Nicholson's bathroom scene from 'Shining'. Imagine that, eh!

in reply tomrrun

I suppose that scene was definitely for the girls, but the Shining eeuuugh

Oh Adele...another one that's made me smile...that feisty little Week 5!!! You've peeked!!!!?!?!? No need for bracing yourself...you have to do this run to carry...on just three 5 mins & two 8 mins to do then THE BIG ONE!!!! 20 MINUTES??!!! (Eyes on stalks!!)...but I can tell you that it's more of a mental challenge than physical...you are already worried about it & dreading it but you don't have to...just start slowly & then slower still & you will nail it!! Keep us posted...we're all running along with you & love reading about each other's runs 😊
