W4 R3 - Made it, but very worried about W5

I completed W4R3 this morning and had a real psychological battle through the 5 minute runs but kept going. I am really worried that this time next week I'm supposed to complete 20 mins non stop - is it possible ? Did anyone else feel like this ?

I'm a week ahead of you Jacqui. I have completed W5R1 and W5R2 and tonight have the dreaded 20min W5R3. I totally know where you are coming from, last week i was petrified i had reached my limit as struggled for the first time. But it has been fine - honest! Yes my legs feel like lead weights at the end and I have had to adjust my pace and go a bit slower than in previous weeks but i did it and it felt no worse than the 5min runs.

I took a tip from someone else on here for the longer runs and now listen to We're Alive! zombiepodcast.com instead of music as i find myself drawn into the story which takes my mind off how many minutes are left.

You can do it and will feel a great sense of achievement at the end!!

I'm the same, finished W4R3 this morning, I had not looked ahead at what was in store for W5 until about 10 minutes ago and I'm also now feeling quite challenged by the prospect of going from running 5 minutes to 8 then 20! :O I've found 5 minutes quite hard, I did drop my speed back a little from 6.5 to 6mph which did help a little.

Yes. I panicked about it. And I certainly wasn't alone! But we all got through it, and oh, my goodness, what a fantastic feeling it is!

If you've got through each of the previous runs, and you drop the speed a bit if you need to (most of us did) you definitely can do it, and it won't be half as horrible as you imagine! First bit's the worst bit (even though you've done that bit before - it's all in the mind!) - almost everyone finds the second half much easier.

I'll look out for all your 20 minute blogs! :) You can do it.

I have just completed w5 r2 this morning, it was really ok! I started off slowly and didn't dwell on the time left, just tried to focus on the scenery etc. The only hard part I found was having to start the second 8 minute run, but after a few seconds it was fine. So go slow, and don't panic!

Thanks for all the encouragement, I'll let you know how I get on. Zombie podcast sounds good when I get on the later runs, will defo try it. 2011 Kezza I hope you succeeded. Thanks Jacqui
