so i haven't done a run for 2 weeks! i have finished week 6 so got into the serious stuff but can't find that motivation and love i got from doing it before... trying to leave the house to run but can't. anyone feeling the same? help

Yes - but don't stop now you're doing so well to achieve 6 weeks! I'm in week 8 and sometimes it's hard to get out there now it's getting colder/ darker and the runs are getting more serious. I have to give myself a good talking to (like now - I should be getting ready for my run, not checking this forum!) Keep going!

I think this happens to everyone fron time to time and the change in the weather really doesn't help. Don't think about it. Set up your run. Decide when you are going, set out your gear and when the time comes just go before your brain has a chance to talk you out of it. The first 10 minutes will feel hard till your body realises that you mean it!!! An espresso before you set out helps!! Remember the fantastic feeling when you are done?? Go get those endorphins! !

Hi Ellie,

Oh dear ... we've got to keep you running. You're certainly not alone with your feelings.

How about, as a one off, doing a run from W2 or W3 just to prove to yourself how far you've come and restore your confidence.

Then next time put on your running shoes and just do it. Tell yourself it does NOT matter how slowly you go or how far you run just keep moving for the required time. Once you've done it hopefully the motivation will start to return.

You have done brilliantly to get to the end of W6, so I know you can definitely do this. Keep posting so we know how you're getting on.

No no no ellie...you mustn't stop now...remember how good you felt after your W1R1??? Then when you completed that week...then week two...and so on????? Week 6??? Yikes, I bet the newbies on here would give anything to be on Week 6??? You would be so much of an inspiration to them??? This journey has had lots of ups & downs for me, I've looked out of the window & thought "oh no, I don't want to get soaked again" but that's not me, that's those pesky gremlins talking, so I've put on my trainers, had a word with myself & done it...come on, don't stop now, you'll regret it in a couple of months when your conscience makes you start it all over again & you're back to W1??!!! Get then trainers on ASAP!!!

thank you thank you!! i gave myself a talk and did a great 25 min run today! i think those pesky gremlins got to me for the first time but back to it now those endorphins are working

Well done for getting out there again, remember the mojo is a fragile little beast who needs regular airings. Living close to your trainers, they need fresh air and surroundings to keep growing. Don't be the runner who kills off your own mojo...
