Hi everyone,

I haven't posted on here before as I didn't realise this was here! I'm about to start W8R1 and I'm feeling like I've lost my motivation to do it :( Didn't run at all last week due to illness and also have a 3 year old who at the minute thinks sleep is for wimps so that's not helping with the lack of motivation i suppose. Need a kick up the backside!

Here's a proverbial kick! You are doing fantastic to get to week 8 - well done. Get out there and run, have some 'me' time you'll be surprised at how much it energises you. Sympathies with coping with a sleepless 3 year old!

Thank you! Going to go out when my oldest daughter gets in from school. Half an hour to myself to clear my head will be just what I need!

Wow, you've made Week 8? Well done! That gives people like me who aren't as far on real hope you know :)

You've got this far, I'm sure you can keep going. One thing I would say, and really I am no expert, go easy on yourself particularly if you're struggling with tiredness due to a non-sleeping child. That's tough on anyone, it really is.

As has been said many times before on here, it's not about the speed. If you feel like stopping, just slow down instead to the point where you feel more comfortable again. You will hear the phrase "slow and steady" a lot on here, embrace it :)

Best of luck and take care,

Neil

Hi, did you make it out? I was also ill at the end of week 7 and week 8 was delayed by 2 weeks. Just started week 9 today. I know the feeling after a little break, especially a sickness break. I debated going back a week to 7 but I just went for it. I am positive you can too! If you haven't already. Kids just don't read the script do they? I have a 5 year old and an 18 month old. It can be exhausting at times. But I do find that my best runs seem to have been after the worst nights sleep. As if it just the boost of energy my body needs. Sounds odd that something that uses so much energy can actually give you a boost? I guess that will be the endorphins. :)

Just waiting on the older kids coming in from school so I can get out. I'm determined to get out today, the longer I leave it the harder it's gonna be!

It is isn't it? Any time you need it, everyone on here will help. I didn't find it until week 5, would have been handy before then! But you've made it that way on your own - amazing - as the weeks like to chuck a few obstacles in on the way! Just think how much better it will be now you've got us lot cheering you on! Good luck :)
