At long last I have managed to run 5k ,well actually did 5.8k !
How did I manage that ? For the first time I ran with my little marathon /trail runner daughter who encouraged me into this running thing !
We ran through the area where she lives ,my first time out on open roads ,traffic etc and it was fabulous!
Plenty to see and I was even able to talk wedding planning most of the way .... well until we reached a hill !
I was a bit nervous at first as she definitely can move a lot faster than me but she ran at my pace (7.20/km) .
This was my best ever sense of achievement, my girl was beaming with pride and delight with her old mama(fast approaching 60) running through the streets of Glasgow π
Who ever would have thought it ?

I think the change comes around week 5, run 3 breaks the mental block and along with the increasing fitness and stamina levels, actually makes you realise you can do it AND go further than what you actually think you can.
WOW!!! Amazing, just amazing!! 5.8 k....Talking and running?! Amazing! Hills?... Open roads and traffic? These are all things that I aspire to but haven't quite managed yet!!. It's great to hear about your run, it inspires me to get there one day, thank you. Well done.
I started this in June when it was really hot & all I kept thinking for the first 6 weeks was that I could run wk 6/7 in Glasgow where it would be cooler!
They were my favourite runs of the programme as the park & surrounding streets are lovely!
