Finally enjoyed SOME of my run!

I had a moment today. A moment of pure joy! I was running through the woods (my third week of consolidation) and I was listening to run pod and I actually felt AMAZING for the first time ever I felt like a proper runner 🏃‍♀️

Not that I didn’t class myself as a runner until today, I did but the joy of the run only ever hit me at the finish line. Today I felt good! The movement and my breathing felt GOOD during the run! I can feel my body becoming stronger and despite being my hilliest run I did my second fastest times on 1k, 1mile and 2mile which I am so happy about as I’ve been injured during my 2nd week of consolidation.

I guess what I’m trying to say is if you are struggling to enjoy your runs.... keep going ! Just keep running!

Amazing! So good to hear that we may all eventually reach that running euphoria. It hasn’t hit me yet & I’m in wk3 of consolidation but injured with painful hip & vomiting bug (not connected!!!). Your posts keep us going! Thank you.

This is my third may be 4 th week but I only managed 1 run on one week due to back and hip pain :(. It’s so disappointing when you are trying to get stronger isn’t it?

I really needed a good run today and to try and turn things around which I think I have hopefully done.

I would probably still run for the end high of i only flipping well did it even without the during run feel good vibes, it’s such an amazing feeling to get to the end and know you have done something good for your body ❤️

Great post! Fantastic feeling when you get a run like that isn't it?

I just wished it happened to me more often.

Absolutely. I honestly thought I was destined to clock watch until the last second every run with no joy so here’s to hoping it happens again now and wasn’t a fluke 😂

I was the same this morning. Laura said I was half way through my second 28min run. I felt great and was tempted to up my pace. Then I ran into wind and suddenly I didn’t feel quite as good. Still done it though and ran slightly further than my first run.

That’s great well done! Sounds like you are doing amazing ! The wind can be a killer though 💨 I never felt great in the actual program I’m clearly a slow grower to running 😂

Honestly it’s taken to week 8 when I’ve started feeling great. I’ve had so much self doubt that it actually stopped me enjoying completing each run. After my first 28 min run on Sunday I was on such a high I didn’t want the day to end. Keep at it it’ll come to you too.

It was encouraging for me I can tell you! My husband LOVES running and I want to feel that way rather than loving the end 😂

I’m just about to head out for a run and trying to be positive that today is the day. I’ve really struggled with my asthma and hayfever through the past few months, and although graduated, have struggled since with getting my head in the right place. Keeping fingers crossed today is the day. 🤞🤞🤞

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.... but even it’s not your body and cardiovascular system will be getting stronger and therefore one step closer to that joy!
