having graduated a few weeks ago i was really excited to be running to my own music etc... how wrong was i! i completely lost it. i couldn't find a rhythm, couldn't keep motivated and i kept stopping at 15/20 minute. i felt like giving up and that perhaps i couldn't run after all. so i decided to go back to week 9 of the podcasts and it turns out i can do it! i just need the encouragement and structure of the program. i'm still working on running comfortably for 30 minutes, i was hoping once i graduated it would come easy, but i still find it hard - i suppose it will get better with time. this morning i decided i would keep running past the 30 minute mark to get my first 5km in, i did it in 36 minutes. i have a lot of work to do to improve on the time but im so pleased with myself for actually doing 5km so for now im keeping with week 9 and hopefully gonna progress onto speed or interval training on my own...
found my mojo again! :): having graduated a few... - Couch to 5K
found my mojo again! :)
where was it?
Brilliant, well done !
Well done on 5 km I like you need laura to run lol and downloaded the 5km + podcasts that are laura still have done stepping stone and stamina and managed to finish them so def worth downloading not tried speed yet too scared ! Good luck and keep running kate x
Hey ditto. I really wasn't expecting the feelings of can't be bothered after graduating completely caught me by surprise. But it seems to take a couple of weeks to readjust then we are back in business. Well done getting your 5k. That's great.
I still go back to the week 9 podcast regularly - even though I graduated in November, I still find the 30 minutes a challenge. I've used the C25k+ podcasts quite a bit, and although I'm happy(-ish) with Stepping Stone and Speed outdoors, Stamina is too much for me except on the treadmill! I've tried running to my own music, but miss Laura's encouragement - so go back to w9 when I'm needing a bit of a boost. So far it's always done the trick!
