As some may remember this is my second attempt at c25k. I started off by using the gym to build strength, then started adding in c25k. I was over 19 stone when I started the gym and I was about 18.5 when I started the run, wi huge obscene BMIs. I took my time about it and only moved on to the next run day or week when I felt comfortable. Anyway week 3 has been tough, yes it's took me all year to build to it lol, however I've been on it for over a month and each time I was building speed rather than moving on. This worried me in case when I moved on I couldn't keep the pace. However week 4 just filled with me dread!! Yesterday I had a really good day at the gym so I bit the bullet and done week 4. I kept telling myself anything more than the usual is a bonus. I'm really pleased to say I completed week 4 run 1. I think I only got sick and had to fight through the last 2 mins running lol. I just had to tell someone who understands what this means to me, oh and btw I'm nearly 15 stone now!! Thanks for listening.
Sorry to blow my own trumpet.......... - Couch to 5K
Sorry to blow my own trumpet..........
Wow 10/10 for perseverance! You're doing amazingly well, no wonder you felt the need for a bit a celebratory trumpet blowing! Blast away m'dear, you've earned it!
Keep blowing that trumpet and sharing your achievements. That is brill.😀
Wow! Never mind the progress with the running (good to hear you're being so sensible about it, but also advancing as you go - one way or another -- whether it's speed or distance, I mean), but in units I understand, unless I've got it wrong, you've managed to lose 65 kg! That is a phenomenal effort of will, let alone anything else. 65 kg worth of nett, "No thanks" or "No, it's not worth it", and burning something extra here, something extra there.
I'm slowly losing weight by on the one hand making sure that my system doesn't make up the shortfall by eating up muscles, and on the other hand trying to eat slightly less than I usually would. It takes a fair amount of discipline, but by being persistent I'd lost 4kg last time I weighed myself (every 6 weeks when I donate blood), and probably about the same since then. That's a paltry 8kg! Well it's not paltry, actually; it's just not phenomenal. Yes, you blow that trumpet! Why not?
Thanks, I think it's about 25kg although I would like to lose about 65kg!! I don't eat less, however I have changed the way I eat. It's a more balanced diet with the right amounts of starch, fruit, dairy, fats and protein. Although I'm following a high protein diet for all the exercise and benefits for my body. It is about what going in as to how you perform I feel. I done week 4 run 2 terribly, however I had just been drinking fizzy pop!!you don't fill a petrol car with diesel?! I've also changed my portion size to the right one lol. Beforehand I was eating far too much starch. Although I'm eating a lot less take aways, my diet has just been tweaked, with eating even more veg than I used to. Keep going, it is hard but together we will get there!!
Wow well done you on both sticking with it and your weight loss, It hard work but well worth it
What a superstar you are! What a brilliant string of achievements AND you are still on the journey. Really, really well done. Keep at it ☺
Brilliant! What a great effort. You deserve to be proud of yourself and I hope you really are. You have taken control of your life and are making positive changes. Now you know you can do this, you can do ANYTHING!!!
Keep it up; keep posting! We will love celebrating your achievements with you.
Fantastic - you have done something amazing. Keep going. you give me hope that I will eventually shift some more weight, too , and get below the 17.5 stone I seem to keep circling around.
You are wonderful.
We are all wonderful. You will do it, if I can anyone can. Although I have tweaked my diet on top of the gym and run. I do think what I'm putting in has changed the way I exercise as well as the way I feel. Not as sluggish, not as heavy feeling. Although at times I seem to eat loads. I'm on a high protein diet, though not an extreme athlete diet lol. Eating a lot less start h. Cut out take aways. Drinking plenty of water. Having a dairy and fruit intake per day. Eating a more balanced diet with the right portion size. Hope this helps. Tbh I've circled the 15 stone for a while now, been up and down, up and down but my diet hasn't been as good as it should lately. Keep it up and well done!!
I read the posts every day, they/ you all inspire me to keep on keeping on! Power of positive runners!
