To run or not to run???

Hi - I was planning on doing W4 R1 tonight but I got a pain in my lower back yesterday whilst mopping (I know .. living the dream). I can feel it but wouldn't say it's painful.

Should I run tonight or rest it? I've not had any injuries yet and don't know if running might help it??? Or not??

I would rest today if I was you and see how you feel tomorrow. I pulled muscles in my back whilst I was on week 7 of the plan and had to take a week or little more of rest. Get back out there once your back feels right. Well done on your progress so far.

I wouldn't run as you may cause injury by compensating for the pain. Mr SC goes swimming when he has back pain as he finds it stretches him out while not putting the rest of his body under stress (I am not necessarily recommending this course of action but he finds it helps him but then he is an ironman triathlete)

I'd be inclined to rest it a little more so that you don't aggravate it. You could maybe do some swimming instead, as that is low impact.

You've made good progress so far and a few days rest now is better than spending a long spell on the injury couch later.

Rest and maybe, as suggested, swimming...:) The run will still be there:)

Thanks all - think I'll go for a swim tonight and see how it is tomorrow. Advice is really helpful from you all.
