At the moment I have been jogging on grass not too sure whether to jog on pavements.

Do you jog on grass or pavements?

I started on grass as everyone said better for you but I prefer pavements oddly

Yes I was recommended grass but fancy pavements. Might try my 3rd run of week 3 on pavements.

Horses for courses... :) Off road and grass make for more difficult running... good running shoes are essential for the different surfaces, ( many of us have off road running shoes and road shoes) and really good ones for pavement pounding because of the impact.

I find myself going faster or seeming to go faster and having to slow the pace

Just keep it steady and then as the runs get longer, you have plenty of reserves left.... our running muscles need time to build up gently,as does our core strength and stamina. Exercises for strength and stamina are also essential on our rest days..:)

If you finish each run, feeling like you could do a little bit more..that is what to aim for. You are doing wonderfully!

I don't feel like that at the beginning but when I get to the last run I feel that I do have just a little more πŸ‘ not a lot just a little

Also could you give me some advice ... when and what do you tend to eat before a run I am having a banana but yesterday it gave me a stitch I ate it 20 mins before do I need to eat earlier on ????

Oldfloss profile image

Well.. we are all so different.. I run early, and my regime from beginning C25K, right up to my 10K runs now, has always been a cuppa and two digestive biscuits... about 45 mins to an hour, before heading out... a lot of folk eat nothing...unless it is going to be a very long run.

If you wish to eat, then keep it very light... and at least an hour would be my advice at this stage :)

Hydration is the key too... good hydration every day and not just run days...:)
