Hopefully I will be a Graduate by the end of the week πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ I am planning to continue (may repeat Week 9 to build up running legs and distance). is it recommended to still have a rest day in between run days please 🍷

Oh my goodness, yes.... more so if anything!

The runs get longer, you are consolidating the 30 minute runs... and you need to continue building up stamina strength and those newly found running legs!

The Graduate badge is polished all ready for you.. and we are all waiting!!

Maybe I'm a bit sad but getting so excited to say I have started something followed the instructions and completed it πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Brilliant...go you!!! And the best bit is.. the journey goes on ... and if you do decide in while to head to Bridge to 10K, there are loads of us there who you know and so many new things to try on your continuing running journey!

:)

I have read different opinions but everyone seems to agree rest days are essential for at least 6 months to 18 months into your running to let your joints get stronger.

Always, rest days, until we are further on our journey :)

Oh yes you will still need the rest days to let your muscles repair, are you achieving 5k yet in your runs?

If not why not just extend your run the little required to get you there (good sense of achievement ) and then stick at that for a few weeks to consolidate your ability/strength.

That's what I'm doing for now!

Me too after reading Bluebirdrunner brilliant post last week, I thought consolidation was best and then consideration on the future
