After waking up feeling like πŸ’© due to a crazy week on call resulting in very little sleep, too much coffee and a piss-poor diet I reminded myself that this was a new beginning and my 5k Trail run is only 2 weeks away. Having gotten very close to 5 k in my C25k training, I decided to dust off my old garmin (lo and behold there was still a bar on it!), put 5k distance into runkeeper, turn off all audio cues, put music on shuffle and enjoy today for what it is. My nose stopped running within the first few minutes of running, my head cleared and I found my groove. The run felt amazing!!! When I checked my stats after the run was finished, each km got progressively faster. What!?! Yay! Granted I ran in town on a fairly flat route and my race is anything but flat, I still ran my first 5k, non stop in years! Whoohoo 😁. I'm over the moon with excitement!

That's for sure! Even the music on shuffle played just the right tunes🎢. It couldn't have been any better!

Thanks! I feel ready other than the 97 m elevation gain for the first hill at the very start of the race. Yikes. I've already decided that I will do a slow run through the meadow up to the hill, will hike the hill to save my legs so can hopefully run the remainder of the trail. It's very narrow animal trails that we run on, so will likely be forced to walk parts regardless. Looking forward to it!
