Well done Faye....it's a good feeling isn't it? I hope that feeling stays with you & I hope the pain eases...I'd have an extra rest day if I were you...but you'll get better advice than that from more experienced runners on here

Thanx Hun, I think it's sore because I did a Zumba class an hour after day1.

It's a great feeling, I'm looking forward to my next one x

Faye have you checked out the post run exercises in the forum? Also shin splints can sometimes be caused by 'thumping' when running, I am a thumper, so the best advice given is from one of our site mentors Oldfloss which is to kiss the ground with your feet.

Well done on having done W1 and great that you felt so amazing after tonight's run. Happy running

Excellent that you've completed your second run. I've not had shin splints but Oldfloss gives some of the best advice, so worth taking heed. I hope you get plenty of rest before run3, and that it goes well. πŸ˜€

The normal aches and pains at this stage can be a nuisance...but are expected... we are doing new and strange things to our bodies. There is so much to think about, concentrate on and generally try to understand !

I do love the expression, kissing the ground with our feet... I tried to remember it myself on a run yesterday! We are just so determined to get our legs running, I do think we thump our feet down...:) Some dynamic stretches in a little regime of exercise could help too...

Not sure how these would work ?:)

Apart from this... slow and steady does it and very, very well done:)

Aah thankyou so much!!

I'll try running a bit softer lol and stretch afterwards.

On Tuesday after my first run I went to my Zumba class, I think I over did it. I need to choose different nights to run 😊.

Have an amazing day x

Well done! I'm at a similar stage and have a few aches but I'm putting it down to newness....
