Hi folks. I'm Sarah, a busy mum of 2 young boys who started this programme yesterday. I'm not very fit at all and due to work/family life can't get to the exercise classes I used to enjoy. I'm fed up of not doing something for myself so I've taken up this challenge.

Thanks

Sx

My body is saying 'ow ow ow, never again' this morning but I actually felt a sense of achievement after the first run so I'm gonna go out again tomorrow. It's great to see all these posts of other people who have been in the same situation. I've got to say, I don't think I've ever been more pleased to hear Jo Whileys voice as I was yesterday, towards the end of the last 3 runs 😂

Good for you Sarah, as a mum of 2 you probably need 30mins of time just for yourself to stop you going mad so starting this is perfect as "me time".

I hadn't exercised for 30 years before starting this and jogged for 20 mins last Fri. So if I can do it anyone can.

Good luck, take it slowly and gently and follow the program and the mentors advice on here and you'll love it.

Thanks very much. Just need to clear my head after work sometimes and this will be ideal. Glad to hear that it's working well for you too. Sx

Absolutely fantastic, you've done the hardest part, which is getting started. 🤓

Stick with the programme, take it slow and steady and don't forget to let us know how it's going- highs and lows, we want to hear all about it and be with you on your journey.

Happy 🏃🏽‍♀️ running. 😀

Well done for starting as that's the biggest hurdle. Slow and steady are 3 words that have helped me to get to WK6R1 and I swear by them!!

I don't know how this program gets you there but if you follow it and believe in it, you will achieve it 😁

Plus the people on here will give you all the advice, encouragement, positive thoughts, well wishes, congratulations and love you'll ever need xxx

I also go to slimming world and we have our own little family there. That's what keeps us on the straight and narrow and makes us go back.

Looking at the replies and encouragement to my very first post, this feels the same and it's great! Thanks very much to everybody so far. I'm enjoying reading your stories and seeing how it's working for everybody. X

Hi, were in a similar situation - I have 2 boys (3 &1) and also no time to go to classes regularly. Once I miss one I never seem to go bath either so I thought running would be perfect as I can do it whenever I get chance. I'm also at slimming world! Trying to lose 3stone for my wedding next August...

Let me know when you've done your first run & how it went. I'm hoping to do mine tonight!

I did my first run on Saturday and planning to go out tonight for my second. The first one was tough towards the end (probably the last 2 or 3 one minute runs were challenging) but I kept going and felt really good about it. What week are you on now? X

Well done on taking the hardest step........... starting!

Welcome to your new running family.

I hope you are prepared for your life to change in ways that you cannot, at present, begin to imagine. Sounds ominous but is actually wonderful and empowering.

Enjoy the journey.

I never did anything except walking before this and started week 4 this morning. It's amazing that I managed the 5 minute runs. The program is incredible. Enjoy 🏃😀

I'miss on week one too and the best advice I was given was to check out the NHS choice streaches! Really helped me. Was doing some but this showed me a couple of new ones that ment I could use stairs the day after a run lol. Enjoy
