Well last of the 25 minute runs done and legs are feeling it this time... hopefully the extra 3 mins of week 8 aren't too different? Did anybody struggle from 7 to 8? I know I'll get the best advice on here πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»

I moved on to Week 8 Run 1 today. Didn't find it too much of a jump. You've broken the back of this now, go steady and you'll be fine on your next run. Good luck.

Hi Bloke70😊

Yes as Whitejog says steady as you go..

Just a few extra minutes now to be added to each week to get you to the graduation run. However, as you noticed the longer runs are more tiring. Extra rest days may be needed and do try to stretch well after your warm down walk.

That said these runs are fun, you may start to notice feeling your breathing settle after the first 5 to 8 mins and relax a bit more. You may find your running zone...

Run tall, with your head up, shoulders down and relaxed, no hand clenching. Open your chest so you can take on more oxygen *all tips from Laura..

If you haven't already seen it look for the post by Oldfloss yesterday called the journey...not the destination. Lots of great help there.

Sorry this has turned into quite a long post...

Good luck😊...

Enjoy it, pace yourself and you will have a ball.

I wouldn't say it was a struggle the whole week, the one thing I did notice is I felt I had to change my route to put in a new bit early on, so I couldn't get negative at 25 minutes thinking that by now I would have finished. I didn't have the usual milestones to fall back on and compare - that was definitely for me a good thing.

It wasn't as 'easy' as I thought because I think I thought 'it's only an extra 3 minutes that can't be hard' .And it still was a bit of a stretch, but that is what the plan does. Every week it asks your body and head to do a little bit more. And like previous weeks, I did it and no doubt you will too. Good luck for those runs, you will do them just fine.

Hello bloke! I don't think it'll be a problem. The reason I say this is that this morning I ran (unusually) in the gym. I'm one run behind you. Because I was going with my partner, my routine was out of the window and I forgot my headphones - so I plugged in 20 minutes on the treadmill and plodded away. It was only at 18 minutes in that I realised it was meant to be 25 minutes and you know what? It was fine! I upped the timer to 25 and just continued - I knew after that that 28 or even 30 was not going to be a problem. I realised it is purely mind over matter by this stage. You can do it, I can do it, we all can do it!! Have faith in yourself and your rapidly improving bod.

Not what you're looking for?
