Feeling a little funny

I wish it was a laughter kind of funny, but it's an odd type of funny. Due to run week 6 run 2 tonight but all day I have had a headache and I just feel off. Achy neck (coming from the headache I think). Just been for some fresh air away from my desk but as soon as I came back I feel off again. Can't put my finger on it.

I can't do the Park Run on Saturday as I had wanted to as I forgot that I have to take my daughter to a party for 10am and as it is way too far to walk, my husband who can't drive, can't take her. So that does give me license to delay run 2 to tomorrow. and do run 3 on Sunday. But I hate the idea of delaying.

What would you do? Options are to just go tonight when my husband gets home (after kids bedtime so will be 7:30pm) or to delay until tomorrow. I am worried that going when I feel funny may lead to a bad run and affect my confidence. But it may also have the opposite too.

The best runs can often come out of the most horrific of days.

Time for yourself - why not just go out tonight without any promise of what the run will be like - the worst case is that it is a practice run and you get some fresh air, the best case is that it is a successful run and you get some fresh air.

I agree. I've had a few runs on days where I've felt a bit iffy, and I've ended up feeling loads better for going. Give it a try and see how it is. As long as you've been eating ok and aren't feeling faint or anything, I would go for it!

MrsT I agree with SC here. Give it a go no pressure and if nothing else it's stamina in the bank. Hope you soon feel funny as in haha and are better soon.

If I were you I would keep my options open. See how you feel later on tonight.

There is no rush or pressure to 'get these runs done' and I think you are right a bad run could knock your confidence.

I hope you feel better, and get a good nights sleep.😊

See how you feel, we often feel "off" when it comes to running just before we come down with something like a cold. It is our bodies way of saying protect me, don't push it. So I would wait for your next run and see how you feel. I know when Your going through the he program it is so hard to postpone a run but honesty if it takes a few extra days to graduate it really is a drop in The ocean compared to your whole running journey that is in front of you.

You can have an extra days rest and fit your runs in around life, if need be, there's no must about it, just remember to have your rest days, that's a must..😊

I would rest up... the runs will still be there...we do learn as we move along the C25K running path, to really listen to our bodies:)

See how you feel later... and if not improved, then maybe some gentle yoga, neck stretches and some time just relaxing :)

It could be a little bug grabbing hold or just a tension neck related headache.. either way...just be kind to yourself :)

I went for a run (think it was week 6) with a headache hoping that it would clear with the run, didn't work.

Every step pounded through my head and wasn't good at all' I did complete the run but wouldn't want to do it again

I think this one settles it for me. Headache still very much there. It's going down my spine from my neck. Hot bath for me instead I think xx

sounds like a plan to me, after last time it's what I'd be doing

Oh nasty enjoy the bath and hope you're better soon

The bath was nice. I've worked out that the headache and light head has come from this morning's meeting. 3.5 hours I was sat with my head turned to the left to look at the screen. So I'm confident I'll feel better tomorrow. X
