So I've just done run 1 of week 1 - feeling really good despite only being able to complete 5 of the 8 jogging parts - I did however complete the whole time just keeping up the brisk walk! Hoping I do more of the running part next time!
Week 1 Run 1!: So I've just done run 1 of week... - Couch to 5K
Week 1 Run 1!
Welcome and well done for getting out there. This is the biggest step...but we have a mantra of slow and steady...next time slow down on the runs and then slow down some more.
Well done you, so you didn't give up you kept going even though it was tough, next time you'll do more of the running I'm sure.
The biggest challenge is making a start and you've done that, onwards and upwards
Well done for getting started - it will get easier but brilliant you didn't give up and kept going - keep moving forward and keep logging in as best support ever on here
Thank you Wannabefit19 - I have not told any friends or family about this so I have turned to the board for support until I feel more comfortable.
You'll find loads of support on here. Well done on taking the first step. Just keep telling yourself that every run you do, no matter how slow, you are adding to your stamina. Keep it up 🏃♀️👍
I too have only told very select few family & friend ( prob only 4) - work with lovely lovely people but all very fit runners doing marathons and long fell runs etc . I know they would be supportive but want to get to 5 k before I think about telling people . This site I feel is full of like minded people on a similar journey now or in the past which feels comfortable and safe .
Congratulations, you did well carrying on to complete the session. You will find it easier as time goes on just keep the pace nice and gentle. 😊
As everyone else has said you did the hardest part by getting off the couch and getting out there. We don't have C25K police on here, so don't get hung up on the 9 weeks having to be calendar weeks. Most of us take longer than the 9, as sometimes we need to build up stamina before we can go onto the next run. You've made a great start and we are with you when you run. Good luck next time out
