Yes! Week 5 day 1 was yesterday evening, done. If someone had told me a few weeks ago that I would be running I would have said they were crazy but here we are just about half way through. Either the aches and pains are getting less or I'm just getting used to them. Still not entirely sure my footwear is just right but there doesn't seem to be anywhere local other than the large retail sheds. I did call in at a so called running shop over the weekend but when a lady told the assistant the running shoes she was trying were not comfortable he suggested trying another pair of socks I didn't feel it was the best place for advice.

Maybe my problem is not duff shoes but duff legs. Still onwards and upwards πŸ‘πŸ˜

Well done Eric. It's amazing what we can do isn't it? As for running shoes I was lucky to have my gait measured at an independent shop. If your legs are only tired and don't actually hurt, then perhaps your trainers are OK but I'm no expert. Good luck with R2.

Hey MrS, maybe it's time to go to one of the big cities and find the independent shops, as the doubling of socks doesn't seem to be perhaps the best advice... it's a bit like the princess and the pea fairytale, you could end up wearing Noddy Holder platform trainers.... Interesting but dangerous! Good luck with W5 and whether it's your legs or your trainers I hope both work well for you.
