Week 2 R1 done.

Started at 7:30, fought the urge to do W3 R1, patience required. Strange thing is I KNOW I'm not the fittest of people and don't want to hurt myself but I'm pretty sure I could do it.

Still determined to finish the course (and then repeat it to increase speed by 0.5 every other week, would like to get to sustained 9/9.5kph BUT only when fitness levels allow).

In a hotel next week, Sunday to Friday but I have my Bluetooth earbuds so Laura can continue to guide me for week 3 but that's planning ahead.

Shower time then food, WFH again this week so Wednesday should be Week2 R2.

Can't wait for week 4, I get promoted from waddler to jogger!

Follow the plan. Slow and steady build up of your running muscles is the way to become a runner. There are no shortcuts. This is building to a habit for life, hopefully, so what is the rush?

Stick with it.

Everything IannodaTruffle said

Lee - IannodaTruffe is right, there's no hurry to do this, build it up slow and sure and it gives you a better foundation. Well done on sticking to the programme and looking at your comments you certainly have a determination and goals in mind. These will certainly help you in the coming weeks. Good luck next time out.

I love just plodding away on the treadmill, while fitness/weightless is my primary driver for this I chose C25K for the structure.

In the past, I did try C25K BUT I went off program and mainly did 1 min brisk walk, 1 min 9 - 12 kph but I did this 5-6 nights per week plus I through in the odd Cooper Test (keep moving for 12 minutes irrespective of pace higher the distance the better)

Now I am determined to stay on exactly what the program says, with the exception of possibly having to repeat weeks as the numbers get higher, until I can comfortably complete each week.

I like to push myself, always have done, hence the niggling little voice telling me to 'skip to the next part' but the sensible part of my brain tells me I'm nearly 46 and need to increase slowly and work my way back into jogging/running.

My previous attempts failed for 3 reasons, 1, I was worried about people laughing in the hotel gym, 2. I was pushing myself too much and it became a chore, for instance, the last run of the last time I ran a 11 minute mile (I know it's not a world record) and then straight after forced myself to go straight to the hotel's pool and swim at least .5 mile.

3. I fell into the 'it's alright to eat this, I'll be on the treadmill again later.' pit, bigger mistake that number 2!

Thanks for the encouragement and the guidance, I really appreciate it, please remind me of my determination in later weeks when I'm struggling ;)
