HI everyone, just wanted to give you all the good news, that last night I completed my first 5k race. I did the Bournemouth 5k speed of light, which is amazing. It starts at 7pm and most people have day glow clothes and head lights, an amazing sight !!! My predicted time was 40 mins, but managed 38.47, so am really pleased. When I started the C25K in early July, I would not have believed I would have been doing this now. So for everyone who is working their way through the programme, keep going, it really will change your life. Keep running !!!
First 5K race: HI everyone, just wanted to give... - Couch to 5K
First 5K race
well done sounds a fab event and a great run
That sounds like fun Susie. Well done on running your first race and for your time.
Brilliant - well done!
Inspirational. Well done!
Posting as I head out for my W6R1 I want to get to where you are now.
That is so great Susie. I cannot understand why every doctors' surgery doesn't have a Couch to 5K poster on its wall alongside all the anti-smoking and pro-vaccination ones.
Well done! And thanks for inspiring those of us who have only just begun 😊 I'd love to be able to do a 5k race in a few months time!
Well done Susie! That sounds great!
Sounds like great fun. Well done on your 5k achievement !
Great, well done on your 5k! Sounds a lot of fun and what a super duper time for your first 5k!
that's fabulous Susie!! Cant wait to do my first one but I'm not ready yetx
We have a very similar story, Susie!
I started C25K on 7th July, and I also ran the Speed of Light on Saturday! It was an amazing experience. Am planning on doing the 10K next year, and probably the 5K again too!
Are you a Parkrun runner? Poole is fantastic; I haven't done Bournemouth yet.
HI, wow its so nice to now know someone local on the forum, thanks so much for your post. The Speed of Light was amazing wasn't it !!! I liked everything about the time of the race, and the fantastic guys dressed as Christmas trees ! My next goal is the Boscombe 10 k in November. I was actually planning to try out the Parkrun in Bournemouth tomorrow, so will let you know how that goes. How is the one in Poole ? Do you run around the lake ?
Well done, what an exciting 5K. Bournemouth must be wonderful to run around
