Cindy... yes... and you will feel so good when you do. Many folk like you carrying a little extra baggage :) ( Some with a lot more than you!) They often post on the NHS Weight Loss forum too:)

Start this... and the way is slow and steady..listen to your body and take your rest days... we will support you all the way on this great journey...just take the second step... You already took the first..you are here!

Yes you can! Just take it slowly. There's a lot of us on here in this age group and over who are also struggling with weight and health issues. You'll be surprised what you can achieve. 🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏼

Yes! Slow and steady is the key. Just give it a go - you will be surprised how quickly you start to see some progress and feel pleased with yourself 😀

YES, YES, YES!!!! There are many, many runners on here older than 56 and many, many who are overweight! You can do this and we'll all be here to support you! If you're finding it too challenging then my advice is to repeat a week and not move on. I did this several times - it took me a lot longer than 9 weeks to complete the programme. Just take things at your own pace, ALWAYS have at least one rest day between runs, follow the programme and you will do it. I never, ever thought I'd be able to run for 30 minutes without stopping but somehow I managed it. In the first week I couldn't even do a minute. Don't look ahead in the programme beyond, perhaps, the next week. You can definitely do this!

Yes, as long as you're healthy, take it really slow and steady, it'll get easier as weight comes off. See how much you can lose on the prog with the excercise and controlled diet..

A lot have done it older than you, I have and my wife has. My younger sisters your age with weight problems, nearly always had weight issue, she would benefit from doing c25k, think I'll mention you're interested in doing c25k😊

59, 60 in a few weeks, a little overweight (it's going) and just stopped smoking after a lifetime and here I am just going into week 5

Go for it, it's never to late!

Yes you can; the hardest step will be the first one off the couch, always think positive " yes I can do this " even on off days, which all of us have experienced. Good luck, and enjoy.

Hi, yeah sure. Crack on 🙂

The fantastic thing is that it's best to do the sessions very slowly.

Walking is brilliant. Do more of it. It's free, needs no gear and can be done anytime, anywhere. It helps with weight loss and would be a good accompaniment to your run/walks sessions. As would swimming. I dance in my front room too. Just move more and eat less and you'll be fine 😃

Good luck

When I read your post I knew you would get loads of great replies

There are many many lovely people on this forum older than you with too many pounds on their bones and health issues too. Everyone is kind and supportive, but one warning, never use the word fail. A bad run is better than no run, and an incomplete run is a practice run! Get your running shoes on and get out there. Good luck.
