Returned to Farmoor reservoir for tonght's run. Very pleased to find that according to Strava I covered 5k in 37:22 (including the warm up and cool down walks). Also, without actually trying to do it, my km times were faster (not by much, but a distinct improvement) ranging from 6:55 to 7:05 (where previously they were 7:10 to about 7:50. The thing is I didn't really try to improve, but the body evidently knows unconsciously how fast it wants to go.
Photo is a half "mobot" to mark the penultimate run. I shall need an accomplice (my wife!) to press the shutter if I do a full mobot for the last one!
Tonight was a very enjoyable and stress-busting run (long story!)

Well done Iain - you need to compare your first post photo to this one as you look fitter, healthier and younger (although the tan from being outside more probably helps as well).
Thanks for the compliment, but I think the youthful look might be due to the phone cam randomly selecting the "face beauty" setting, which smooths out the wrinkles!
Graduation maybe Friday or Saturday (though rain is forecast). Then the following week I'll attempt to run all of 5k, maybe a couple of times then have a shot at the parkrun on Saturday provided it's not too muddy! (Abingdon parkrun can get quite muddy I'm told - a friend said he saw someone actually lose a shoe once!) Failing that, the Didcot parkrun is on a firmer track but a more boring run.
Just keep it slow and steady Iain... cruise your way to the podium and be ready for the photo shoot! Just go with the flow, and if your body is taking you there, that is fine
PS
Love the bit about your body unconsciously knowing how fast it wants to go ( or not).. I have to curb mine in when finding some stretch of flat ground, or a downhill bit :.otherwise it goes completely mad!
