W9R2 - first Parkrun

My previous run (on Thursday) really hurt and I wasnt sure my calf muscles would be ready to run again by today but I really enjoyed today's run. Parkrun was great and running with so many other people really adds an extra buzz. I found it difficult to get my pace right at first because we were all packed together, but as the space between runners expanded I found a slot amongst others where the pace was good.

I finished in 29:22 and it felt a bit strange to stop running before being discharged by Laura, but the goal is 5K not 30 mins after all. I'm chuffed and looking forward to my graduation run on Monday.

Congratulations to all who completed a Parkrun today and also to my fellow week 9ers, good luck with your last few runs to graduation.

Well done on such a good time. Parkrun is a great way to keep motivated to run after graduation. Still waiting for my results from Edinburgh today but we did have 515 runners a course record!

Whoa, I thought the 400 runners at Norwich was a lot! Have you signed up for text results? I got my text probably a good two hours before the website was updated and still haven't received my email.

Loved the Edinburgh parkrun, I'm guessing the course easily coped with the number, been to some where that amount of people might make you think twice...

Yes it's a nice broad flat stretch of tarmac. The funnel at the finish gets busy and is now roped off in a zigzag line like a busy airport queue to cope.

I didn't realise how many there were until I got my results barcode - 391 - and there were still lots of folk behind me. Felt I'd had a good run but was slower than some this year. I put it down to time to cross the start line or at least that's my excuse!

Well done, under 30 minutes is definitely a good first 5k time!

Great time. I am hoping to do my first Park run soon to get an accurate time for my 5k. Endomondo has recorded me at 28.20 but it also made the route 400 metres longer than the previous run. I didn't deviate but I think the satellites did. My best 5k also included a nett drop in altitude, so I need an accurate time on a measured course to know where I stand. My grad run was a pig and came out at over 35 minutes for the 5k..Enjoy your graduation run. It is a moment to savour, even if it isn't your best run. Good luck.
