So this morning I was ready to embrace the challenge of week 5 run 1. I know that my stamina and strength has improved through the programme so wanted to see if I could achieve the next level. Oh crumbs it was tough!
I just about managed the first 5 mins but the second was a struggle. Everything hurt and Jo was telling me to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. Can't say this really helped. Then I started thinking about all you C25k runners out there and especially your molto chic lady you bumped into the other day jancanrun. Before I knew it second run was done and I was enjoying my surroundings again, hearing the birds, smelling the damp soil and woods and felt chuffed to bits. Still had the third 5 mins but it's mostly down hill so psychologically it was much easier. Wk5r1 big fat tick! Once again thanks everyone for getting me there π

A big well done. I've spent the last hour contemplating and talking myself out of the 1st run of week 5 and still deciding if I should attempt it today! Any advice?
Oh definitely go for it. You've come so far and is not easy but so rewarding when you have done it! Let us know how it goes π
Well done you, remember OldFlosses wise words - kiss the ground - she does mean with your feet. By only kissing and not thumping it helps you to glide.... good luck for Run 2
Don't let the couch win and turn you into a cushion. You a runner and that's what we do. Go and run and kick the couch on the way out!
I've done it! Can't breathe, speak or move but I've done it! Thank you for the massive nudge I needed in the right direction. St John's are waiting for me outside so must departπ
