Does anybody run on holiday?? I'm taking my running gear to Weymouth in a few weeks time and hope to graduate running from Bowleaze cove along the sea front into Weymouth(which is a handy flat 5k in distance)!! Am I mad or is this a good idea?? Also, does anyone else have a favourite seafront run??

I managed one run on holiday and then fell on a cliff path whilst walking the dog. Was out for ages after that so no more holiday runs for me - but I certainly had good intentions! I'm off to Cornwall in August and will try again then.

Oh yes, we like holiday running on here. You know you're hooked when you wear your running shoes on a flight and have your gear in your hand luggage to be sure it doesn't go missing. Enjoy your holiday.

Of course!!!

The cliff path round Baggy Point near Croyde is spectacular.

I did some running tourism last Monday as it happens! On the beach at Saltburn 🏃‍♀️✔️👍 I did the Redcar Parkrun while I was up there

Sounds sensible to me. I did check the tide times beforehand 😃

Running on holiday is one of the highlights of being a runner! I ran this year in Portugal, last year in Ireland, France, the Lake District and near Glasgow. Any business trips I get to go on I take my gear and try to get out on early morning runs. It really is great fun!

Oh yes I always try! Especially if you have a Garmin or one of the other tracking apps, you get a great souvenir or your run! Running tourism is the best!

I love running on holidays! Creeping out whilst everyone else is still in bed, seeing more of where you are, running before it gets too hot, nice! I'm going to Florida soon an will be first holiday in a while where I don't run- too hot an humid and all my energy will be going into the parks.

Yes! Running on holiday is just the best way of exploring a new area as there's always different things to see/hear/smell. Posting a photo of said holiday run is a rule around here too 🙂

Running tourism is the best! Have fun when you're away, and don't forget to take a photo and post it on here for us :)

Last year I went to Scotland on holiday and it was nice running along the quiet country roads. This year I'll be on a cruise for 1 week, so I've decided to take that week off.

You could always run around the ship!! Enjoy your cruise.

That sounds like a great place for a run. We used to go on holiday there a lot. I am very jealous. Would love to take a run by the sea. It is nice and flat there too! I suffered with uphill running today :(

It is a great use. I have just completed the program this week on holiday. I was very relaxed as I could just concentrate on my running rather than getting back, cooling down, shower then commute to work. Go for it you will love it.

Lots of 'firsts' on this programme 😊 I am on my first holiday running (W1R3 of holiday) and I'm loving it! The first one was tricky (unaccustomed to bast***d hills plus speedy brother in law) and heat but today ran 3k, no walking uphill and PB for last km (uphills means downhills 😁).

Next week working on cracking 5k on hills 😱

So, yes run on holiday; it's an adventure not to be missed🏃‍♀️😎
