Read the manual!

I'm not sure I should confess this but everyone deserves a good laugh.

I graduated a couple of weeks ago and some of you may have seen my post, also I've posted a few times about most of my running being on a treadmil... well early in the C25k process I decided to try a run or two on an incline... it was hard work so I set it back flat (or thought I did)... what actually happened was I set it to 3.5% and have been doing my whole C25k run and post grad ones on an incline... no wonder I find it easier running outside!! :D

I did my second parkrun this weekend and my lad was kind enough to slow down for his old dad, 30:48 though and quite undulating with an energy sapping hill in the middle so I'm quite happy.

Moral of the story... read the manual! :)

You don't want to do that it is a man's prerogative to not read the manual but bluff his way through it.

I would have bluffed though it if I hadn't subjected my 17yr old to 45 mins on it and made him question his fitness :D

I'd say that it stood you in good steed if you're belting out such good times for a hilly 5K :)

...or don't read it...:)

It really benefited your running...:) Now, what is the saying.. Ignorance is Bliss ?

( Not meaning that you are ignorant of course:))

Well, "they" say an incline of 1% makes treadmill running comparable to outdoors, so you did yourself a great favour by making it harder than need be. So you got stronger. And faster. Well done and congtrats with the 30:48, great result!
