Today conspired against me

Was going to run today. Had to swim early as need practice in the reservoir (only open 2hrs at weekends and Thurs eve) as it is 2 weeks until a race. That went well (except water bit hot at 23 degrees).

Yesterday I had checked the weather and found a nice window where the temp was hot but OK as the humidity was reasonable and there was some wind.

Got back from swim (had to snooze as I normally don't do mornings and unable to keep eyes open) but when re checked the weather, the temp was up, as was high humidity and no wind :( Went to shops and too hot to walk!

Also the festival in the park means the entrance I use is closed at 4pm and a friend says there are more barriers up and "my route" not as accessible.

The weather tomorrow is no better (after swim time) and the festival is still there.

I am not good with change but if I leave the run to Monday, it will be a big gap between runs as the last I was able to do was Wednesday. Not sure if I should go back to the run I did Wednesday (W5 R2) or carry on and see how it goes.

I hope I am not making excuses but don't think I am because I am frustrated and want to run.

How about doing some indoor exercises to just keep your motivation and momentum up! Just an idea! You got this!

Its not the exercise alone though, I did swim 2.5k this morning. Of course indoors is an option as long as the fan is going

No. Don't repeat w5r2. Go for w5r3 and if it doesn't work out ...meh! It's just a practice run. Just take it real slow. It's the 20 minutes Ina 'running' style that counts...not the speed or distance. 😉

No, carry on to the next run. Sometimes life just gets in the way and there's nothing we can do about it. However, I've found that longer rest breaks can be advantageous - your legs will be fresh and you'll be raring to get running - carry on to R3 - I reckon you'll smash it!

Oh, and as runlikeagirl says, don't be afraid to notch an unsuccessful run up to a practice run. I've managed two practice runs this week!

Don't panic! I agree carry on and know that there are good runs and practice runs. Wait a couple of days if necessary. I completely understand that slightly panicky feeling when routine falls down.... but don't worry you are good to go 😊
