......that wind!!

This is my first post grad 'give up' I say give up instead of fail (sorry still using the f word) because I was willing, the wind was just against me, it felt like a 20 stone bloke pushing me backwards! I decided to run around the reservoir as had to pop into a customer (got very strange looks arriving in my running gear)but obviously it was just too open/flat nearly blew straight into the water :-0 7 mins in and just went home :-( I'm now sitting here sad I've missed my slot (got to pick 3yr old up fom nursary) eating a bag of crisps I really don't need x boooo

Try not dwell on it, it was something you have no control over, that 7 minutes of running against the wind was probably equivalent to at least 20 minutes of running if not a bag of crisps :)

Tomorrow is another day mate!

The wind is a real runners nightmare. I was out doing a recovery run last week and the head on wind accompanied by hailstone just about floored me, it was terrible, I was reduced to a slow walk, twice. I had to keep going though as I had to get back to the gym where my car was. Don't dwell on it, it was totally outwith your control.

It so makes me laugh what we nutters do to keep running :-) and you parked outside the lovely warm dry gym, I hate gyms xx

From Runners World - advice for adjusting runs according to weather -

A slight headwind - reduce performance by 2.5%

Moderate headwind - reduce by 4%

Strong headwind - reduce by 6%

The wind is so strong you have to lean into it to make progress - take the day off

:D :D :D

I didn't even get as far as running this morning, so well done you for trying! Just walking the dog was hard work. I wouldn't count it as a fail, 7 mins in this weather is great!
