Advice needed please

I posted the other day about doing the 5k race for life on Sunday and when my last run should be. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get out for a run today. Do you think I'm ok doing a half hour run tomorrow or is it getting a bit too close to the race?

How many rest days do you normally take? If you normally only take one, head out tomorrow, rest on Saturday and enjoy Sunday. If you normally need two perhaps leave it... definitely don't go out on Saturday!

Well TC, you're a graduate aren't you? Don't forget to request your Graduate badge - see the pinned post.

Assuming that you're not feeling to tired with the hyperthyroidism, then do go for a short run tomorrow (Friday). The run is to give you confidence that Sunday will be OK. You don't need to run 5km, just get out and stretch your legs, and have a gentle, relaxed run. It won't tire you out, and (since you're just out for a gentle run), you can't f**l as you don't have any expectation of time or distance. It'll keep your legs from getting stiff, too.

And best wishes for Sunday.

I'd suggest a gentle run tomorrow will be fine. And then the atmosphere on Sunday will spur you on. (And don't forget to find time to stretch after all the excitement at the finish, I didn't last Sunday and was still feeling the effects yesterday!)

Do a gentle run this morning... I am just off now.. take it steady and slow...join me maybe sometime today and enjoy it.

Warm up well and relax into a pleasant run.I am going to keep ,mine short and sweet. ( First run after climbing off the IC 12 days ago)

You will be fine at your Rae for Life, they are fun and you can take a little walk too, if you feel you want to :) Go for it!

Thanks for the comments I ran 3k this morning. Can't say it was one of my best runs, my legs felt really stiff, but I'm hoping it was down to not having time to warm up properly and eating a huge meal for my husband's birthday last night. I'm now going to rest up till the race 😊
