Tonight was hard! I'm still not enjoying the runs I'm doing, but still making myself go out. I hope to feel the benefits soon!! I did 5 week 1 runs, as I did 2 on a different app before I found out it only goes to wk 2 run 1 before you have to pay. Today I really struggled with the running. Especially when the app paused on my 1st run which threw me! I didn't cover as much distance and felt a bit ploddy. I would like to lose a bit of weight & get fitter. I struggled today to feel likei was going to get to running continuously. Does it get easier?!
Run 2 Wk 2: Tonight was hard! I'm still not... - Couch to 5K
Run 2 Wk 2
Ooh! I'm in exactly the same place as you. I get to do this run tonight. So I'm going to follow you on here. 😁 I think it's gotten easier to get off my couch and go outside. I definitely feel less fear about my neighborhood and people looking at me run in slow motion. 😜 I'm sure if I went back and did a week 1 run it would be very easy, but that's the whole game, as soon as it doesn't kill you, you have to move on and do the next week.
I hope your run went ok?! Well done, it was hot yesterday & I debated on postponing. But i know if I do I'll end up skipping sessions which defeats the purpose! I've started to not care if people watch/see me. I refuse to let my other half run with me.. he's younger & fitter! Have a good day off from it, let's hope tomorrow is cooler!!
I managed it, but it was a rough one. I got a massive headache. It's been 105 degrees here. Saturday it'll be 108! Even at 8pm it's still 93-95. I'm going to have to switch to very early morning runs to stand any chance getting through this.
I did my wk2 r3 yesterday.. my face was red for a whole hour afterwards!! Means I'm out of sync now though as wk3 run 1 was meant to be today.. but I walked the Malvern hills Friday & halfway round Coventry yesterday and stood for a good couple of hrs & my legs were aching! I can't get up an earlier than I do, to do 1st thing. Though I have to cycle tomorrow evening too! 😫
That sounds beautiful! I want to get into cycling too! There's a Sprint tri on September 23rd that I'm considering. Great job being so active! It inspires me to get out and about more, so thank you. I have my W3D1 tomorrow also! 😀
You are still a very new runner and even fit people starting to run for the first time find it hard work. You can probably already see that your recovery times are improving and your body is slowly getting used to the unfamiliar effort. To be honest, it doesn't get much easier during the programme, simply because the demands increase each week.
Stick with it. The health benefits are so worthwhile and really can change the whole way you approach life. Most of us find we get a huge psychological boost from the endorphins, which means we love running. It doesn't sound as if you have yet experienced this, but give it time.
Don't worry about the distance you cover or the speed, getting out and being physically active is the main thing.
Keep running, keep smiling.
