Thought about Hatman's crisps and 🍊, I'm trying to focus on running technique as a distraction when I ache. Last before 1 run interval was toughest today but feeling pleased another run without walking when I shouldn't. Still not got the "buzz", but in the last half began to feel meditative feeling, bring on more of that!!🙂
Run2 wk 2.: Thought about Hatman's crisps and... - Couch to 5K
Run2 wk 2.
I cant say I've heard of Hatmans crisps but if it helps you stay focused. I tried doing maths sums to distract me but I am useless at maths so that wasn't so good, then I imagined Gordon Ramsey yelling at me not to give up (that kinda helped) but the thought that helped the most was imagining the fitter healthier me just ahead and the unhealthy me lagging behind and it kept me motivated.
Well done for pushing through the pain, it will get easier the fitter you become.
Hi Meepmum. Imagining holding a very fragile potato crisp between thumb and forefinger while you run, was to be a relaxation suggestion.it is difficult to have tense shoulders while doing that.
Another could be to search - YouTube mindfulness for runners. Or just watch this man. youtu.be/ovK7v5HVcWY. Try to do what he says next time you run.
Did that help? Then on your rest day try this youtu.be/6vO1wPAmiMQ
You might like to play that again and again! If it helps. Or look for other work by the same guy.
Relax, run slowly and enjoy yourself.
Thanks for introducing me to Jason think I'll give him a go. Don't worry I realised your crisps and orange was to keep my shoulders relaxing and head up, definitely works for me because it made me smile as well. I'm a visual learner which is why I watch Tanaka on iTunes before I run, "slow to go" is my mantra😊
Hi Meepmum. I didn’t find Tanaka on iTunes.

Do read his links. Happy running.
Hi Hatman, that is the man himself, Professor Tanaka, like lots on here I find his method works for me, so far, especially with plastic knees! I watch the shorter version before I go, I'm experimenting on myself to see if it sinks in subliminally 😉. I also find C25K guru Iannoda invaluable to keeping things in proportion and Old Floss is good to follow too. Psyching myself for run 3 wk 2, good luck with your run.
