Week 5 run 2 done (just about!)

I was quite positive about today as i felt ok doing the first run of the week. The first 8 min run today seemed to take forever and so did the second. I came back feeling quite deflated and thinking how on earth could i do w5r3. I thought i would check the app as i was sure the timings were out (sad I know) - i'm not sure if this is an issue with my iphone but i ran the app at home against a timer and its 6.5 minutes longer than the 31 minutes. If that is all extra running (i didnt check each section just left the timer running) then i've probably run at least 11 minutes each time. I did wonder whether maybe they do this on purpose but it made me feel so deflated at the amount I struggled surely they wouldn't do that. Anyhow feeling better about run 3 now - maybe i'll check the app before i set off!

Don't think yours is the first complaint I've seen on here about the app timings, so it could well be that there is a problem with it. On the plus side, you ran quite a bit further than you're meant to manage at this point in the programme, so that should give you a shed load of confidence for r3. Very best of luck

Wow, well done! You shouldn't feel deflated at all: you did great, despite shonky technologies! My suggestion would be to just use the podcast together with a sports tracker app, or also use a watch with stopwatch function, if you have one, to keep track of what you're running.

You did great though and will ace W5R3,no problem! Good luck! :-)

Thanks, is there any sports tracker app you would recommend?

I use Endomondo but a lot here also recommend Runkeeper. Have a look at both and see which you prefer the feel of. :-) there are others, but they're the main ones I know. :-)

Not a problem. :-) I've seen so many people report problems with the app. Use your phone's music player to play the podcast MP3 (or an MP3 player, that's what I use now) then use a sports tracker to chart the stats. Hope that helps okay. :-)
