After a bit of a blip, and getting my treadmill, I decided to go back to where I floundered. I had a trial run two days ago and despite not running for 2 1/2 weeks, managed 23 mins which meant that I hadn't lost much stamina. Last night, I thought I'd therefore start at Week 7 run 1 and managed well. I don't think running on a treadmill is the same as road running, but its all I can manage with work, and roads around, and I'll still be building up stamina. I'm so glad to be back on track and progressing once more.
Week 7 Run 1 for the second time: done - Couch to 5K
Week 7 Run 1 for the second time: done
Well done africanali . You're back on track again!
Yeah, I agree that running on a treadmill isn't exactly the same as being out on the road, but at least you're giving your body that workout it wouldn't get if you just sat on your couch, so I wouldn't be too hard on yourself for not actually getting outside to run. It can be very difficult (this time of year especially) to fit in running when you have a job to do and other usual stuff in life. I'm really struggling to find the time now which isn't helped by the fact I'm working nights and doing more hours than I would like to if I'm honest, although the extra money really makes up for it! Also, trying to view houses during normal office hours is making things tough at the moment, but I'll get there! If I had my treadmill I would have done a run on it today because I've already had my two rest days and am due to run today, but it's dark and miserable outside now so I'm going to try and get up a little earlier tomorrow and fit it in then sometime.
Was wondering where you got too, there are times this past week i'd love a treadmill ..... It's been hard to get out with work and kids... So my every other day run is now every 4th day
Have asked at work where's safe to run so may try and go directly after work to get a run in
Well done on keeping that stamina up
Where to run seems to be a real problem. There is a big housing estate in our village, but I was worried about seeing people I knew and not stopping to say hello which seemed really rude. Work then got busy so I got back well into the dark so I got worried that I just would not keep up with the running. I would have been worried by every 4th day, but know now that it really doesn't matter and as long as we keep up some sort of routine, thats all that matters. Good luck with the safe space for running - hope that all goes well.
well done for completing it! How did you find the treadmill the second time? Did you still get that sea sick feeling? I have one on order now as it's getting harder to get out too when it's light. It's great that you haven't lost your stamina..it just shows how brilliant the programme is
Hi Debze, I still find that the treadmill still makes me feel dizzy when I get off, and sometimes a bit unbalanced when running, but it is getting a bit better thanks.
