Wk 6 set back due to having a cold

Missing out on my wk6 first run as I'm full of cold 😱. Once I'm back up and running would I better to go back to Wk5 or just carrying on. Did wonder whether I could manage to do wk1 or 2. Feel like I'm missing out!😩😩

I'm no expert. Just get that out of the way first. But I know what you are going through. I took last week off due to having a cold. Energy was low and I had a dry cough. Thought I was OK after giving myself a 4 day break and went out to do Run 1 of week 8 which was a 28 minute run. I managed to complete it but I ached for 4 days afterwards. I went out and did Run 2 of week 8 yesterday evening and today I have no aches. Still found the Run tough though.πŸ˜€

You should be fine to continue with week 6. But give yourself a full week to recover from your cold. When your energy is low there is no point in pushing yourself through a run, might take longer to recover.

If you feel like getting back into it by repeating a run or two for week 5 then go ahead. It's not a race, I have been doing this for a lot longer than the 8 weeks due to a week or two off and repeating a few runs. But I'm getting there.

Get well soon.

Cheers Damien for the advice. I don't want any setbacks, so instead of trainers it's gonna be Beachams and paracetamol. Think the dreaded cough is coming next 😷.

Well done on your 28min run. A few more runs and you'll be graduating βœ‹οΈ. Good luck 😊
