This run was really hard - felt like giving up but I didn't - can't understand why I managed to do 20 mins last week non- stop and yet 2 lots of 10 felt so much harder!

Yes it's strange - I am at same stage and if it wasn't for all the friendly warnings I'd feel a bit down. Just don't give up - and trust the process, as they all say.
I am doing R2 on Tuesday. I struggled with R1 for some reason so cannot say I am looking forward to it!
I struggled with run 1 this morning - will be trying this run on Wednesday. Good luck for your run 3 👍
W6 is harder than W5, same as W2 is harder than W1. Even though it doesn't look it at first glance - which is why it catches us all out. However, you are putting in more mileage in W6 - admittedly some of it is walking, but this is a key is part of the stamina building and is in no way the same as stopping. We all discount the walking section as merely being there for recovery. It is not.
W6R2 is 20 minutes of running interspersed with 3 minutes walking. Therefore it is longer than W5R3, as you didn't stop for 23 minutes. Which will prep you nicely for the 25 minute run in R3
Don't do yourself a disservice, what you achieved in this run was brilliant and a real step up from W5!
