Let myself down 😣

Ok so I done wk4 run 1 and got through it, felt great afterwards 2.

Sadly I've let it slip and don't do run 2. On a bit if a downer past few days and it's shown in my diet and workouts :( let myself slip BIG time, and it's really not helping. My get up and go has got up and ran without me. πŸ˜ΆπŸ™„

You've not done run 2 yet. It's just a slightly longer rest period than usual. If you've got this far you know you can do it and stick to it. You'd have given up before now if that wasn't the case. Sounds like if you make yourself go out and run you'll enjoy it and be back on track.

There's only one thing for it - just get your running gear on and get out of the door and just do it.

I am building my run around going to the polling station later (apologies in advance for my sweaty body going in to vote!) so why don't you do that as it will give you a purpose for going out. You will feel so much better once you have been out and it will give you your mojo back.

What's done is done, don't even think about it as an excuse not to carry on.

You haven't let yourself down! We all have blips, we're human! Best thing to do is get back to it. If you need to, go back to the start of week two but you definitely haven't let yourself down in any way, shape or form. I've repeated weeks a couple of times - so don't be scared to do that if you feel you need to x

What I would do is get a few together who are doing the same next run and plan a time and run virtually together . This helped me massively when I started running last year .

I'm a member of a Facebook labrador group which sidetracked onto other subjects , some of us started running at the same time , so we planned to go out at the same time and supported each other ..... might be a daft idea to some but it felt like I wasn't on my own even though I was running on my own if that makes sense

Thank you all so much for your replys.

I am going to pull myself together today and try get back on track.

I'm not going to lie here and say I'm looking forward to it lol but I'm not going to quit this. I've came 2 far for that now. Xx

you wait - at the end of week 5, you'll look at yourself and think, yes i can really do this. get your trainers on, get out there!!! slow and steady xx

Okay.. your get and go, has gone... so take a big breath, put a smile on your face and rev up and run after it.

These mojos try to hide with the gremlins.. go seek it out... slow and steady... and as you run, think how far you have come...:) As you run. plan out some great healthy eating options... it is a good time of the year for the green stuff:)

We all go through these flat times for whatever reason, and getting back out into a gentle relaxed run is a sure fire way to kick the stresses and strains out of your head. :)

You are doing fine, don't let this drag you down :) Be kind to yourself..

Hold that thought ? x

You do make me laugh Oldfloss - your replies are always brilliantly funny and so kind and supportive - give it up for Oldfloss everyone "woooohoooo, yay" x

I would echo everyone's comments on here - you most certainly have NOT let yourself down and Oldfloss, as ever, sums it up with her wonderful funny quips - I had a rubbish run yesterday and I'm convinced it's because I had pasta for lunch (bad move, note to self) so was feeling rather sluggish 'n' heavy but to make up for it I will go to the gym tonight and have a gentle cycle and a better run tomorrow - this is simply a blip and don't punish yourself - you've made such a good start, don't let a little hiccup or blip put you off - as others have said, just get your gear on and get out there and go catch that get up and go and chase the gremlins out the door with a boot up the bum and, most of all, enjoy it and don't stress about it - we're behind you all the way xx

Thank you so much. You have all been so supportive. I walk 3 miles a day doing a school run with my 2 little ones (tired some days after that lol) but this feeling low is just blah..im going to get ready tonight and get my run done and no excuses! Hey I might even get that buzz back afterwards. Xx

Hi, I haven't read all the replies-but get ur kit on and get out-don't expect anything of yourself, go nice and slow, choose ur favourite route. I suffer from depression and running REALLY makes a difference to my moods. X

You have posted on here, so you do want to do it. Just a little slip, so this week has more than 7 days in it. All humans have bad days (and I assume you are human) good days will return. You get up and go just nipped out for a bit and will be back before you know it.

Not what you're looking for?
