Hi everybody,

Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju, RFC and Pops

Hi Juju,

C25k is amazing. I've tried so many times in the past and failed. However this time two things have changed.

1. I found this brilliant and friendly forum

2. Found Parkrun

On Saturday I ran my first full 5k without stopping or walking and did it in 34:26. I was thrilled. It was my 3rd run of week 7. So going into week 8 now this week and just 6 runs until I graduate. Loving it.

I did 1) and 2) a few months ago. Best thing I ever did :)

Well, the past month has been and gone, and my trainers have been making me feel guilty every time I've seen them in the cupboard. No more! No, I've not hidden them away. I went for a run last night, and feel so pleased that I did - even if my stretching afterwards apparently left something to be desired...! Now I have to hold on to the positivity until tomorrow night, when I get to do it all again :)

I had a great run on Sunday and lowered my PB for 5K by nearly a minute so when I went out today (picking a sunny interval between the storms) I was a bit overconfident. Add to that the wind blowing me down the downhill bit of my run and my pace was "a little uneven" - a minute difference between the first km (uphill/upwind) and the second (downhill/downwind) :) As a result I ran out of steam at about 4.5 K but a run is a run and most importantly I enjoyed it.

so i graduated last friday :D , did a 30 min with laura on Sunday and then a 30 min without laura today , i loved having my own music to run to but i mentally egged myself on like the lovely laura would usually do for me , plan is a few weeks of 30 minute running , hopefully venturing outside soon ( ish ) but definalty sticking to 3 times weekly , cos whilst im not loving it , i am enjoying the smug feeling i get after doing the runs and feeling like my body is more powerful than i thought it was :D

oh also i thought i would try the virtual runner thing and have just entered my proof for a 5k medal , it will be my first bit of bling

Wow! I'm very impressed. I have just done my 3rd run of week 5 which was my first 20 minute run but at the moment this plus 2 x5 minute walks I'm only doing just over 3 km. I must be going far too slow. But I greatly enjoy it and I guess that is what counts.

Keep enjoying it...there is no too slow. The pace you are doing is the correct pace for you and will get you to 30mins non-stop running. 😊

You can work on going further after you graduate. Getting to 5k by the end of the course is not something many acheive, and I think you are amazing at your age to be doing this.

You are doing just fine..keep going.😊

Second 2 x 10 run of the week - a trifle blustery, but felt so much better than on Saturday. Will do one more of these before going back to 20+ min runs without stopping 😁

Third 5K-ish run of the week and most important to me was that I managed to pace myself - 4 of the 5 splits were within 5 seconds. I still got carried away a bit on the downhill/downwind 2nd km but at least it was only 20 seconds too quick this time. All set for Parkrun on Saturday :)

It worked - 1'42" off my PB :)

Following on from my happy post on Monday, I did go running on Tuesday evening. And again last night! Can't remember the last time I actually managed three runs in a week! So yes, three lots of 20 mins this week, and I feel so much better for it. :)

And given the way life is throwing fresh curveballs, I think I'm going to need to keep it up to stand any chance of keeping my sanity... :\

hello I'm reasonably new to running, just completed week three of the Couch to 5K run, wasn't looking forward it but found it was much easier than I thought it would.

wasn't really enjoying the app at first but after today's run I feel so good and I'm strangely looking forward to the next run.

It gets you like that. Be warned that your feelings can go down as well as up! That's one of the things you have to learn to cope with.

Exhausted - I've mowed the lawn today which gets me about 8000 of my 10,000 daily steps. But I'm going to go for my run in about half an hour, then I can collapse in a tired little heap...
