1st run of week 8 tomorrow and I can't lie, I'm feeling a bit anxious thinking of running for 28 minutes. Yikes. I'm trying to convince myself it is a mental barrier rather than a physical one as I have obviously run for 25 minutes last week. Strange how the doubt creeps in but I will give it my best shot. Fingers crossed!
Week 8 run 1: 1st run of week 8 tomorrow and I... - Couch to 5K
Week 8 run 1
Of course you can run for an extra 3 minutes. You've followed the programme and every previous run has prepared you for this one. It is a mental challenge now so lock your gremlins up and let your body do its thing πππ
If it's any help, my W8R1 will be on Saturday having done W7R3 today. 2 days ago I did W7R2 and felt good so I ran through the warm-down period ++ - I've rightly been soundly told off for doing it, so from now on it's strictly the C25K programme again, but hell it felt great at the time! In the end for my R7W2 I was very very naughty and eventually did 35 minutes followed by a warm-down. Tell you what, though, if you're lucky like me, then once you're into a rhythm just adding a few more minutes isn't a problem (just 3 minutes more this time, so who are you kidding - it's not much) - running for longer is always hard for me, but only because you need to just switch off the brain, the legs aren't usually the problem. STICK TO THE PROGRAMME!
