I have been on the ic since February (frozen shoulder) not running related, and only managed a couple of intermittent runs as I felt rubbish.

BUT last week, having still been keeping up with the goings on of the forum, I donned my kit and with a plan in mind ran Stepping Stones on Mon. Wed and Fri. (Thats a steady 30 min run) I ran on a flat route and took it slowly, and was pleased to still be able to keep going for 30 mins.

This week I did Wk9 (30 mins) but on my old route up the hill and back through the college. On Monday, I had given myself permission to walk up the hill if need be, but I didn't need to and ran the whole thing.

Today, I have done the same run, phew that hill was soo tough (its actually after the hill you feel your lungs bursting) butI kept going and recovered and 20 mins in started to enjoy it. My robot legs (someone mentioned this feeling) took over, I thought about how lucky I am to be able to do this and of Irish-John's friend.😐

Before I knew it Laura was saying 'thats it, slow down to a walk'. I felt fantastic. The feeling when you are done is priceless isn't it. Whether you have done W2 W5 W9 10k or indeed a HM like our Pops and co.

We are all doing very well.😊

Happy running everyone.

Thanks to Rignold for the advice to drink more water on non-run days. I did and no cramp in my calf. Not managed as much as you suggested if course! πŸ˜†πŸ˜Š...

*wearing your running buff as a headband helps keep you cool.

Hi Floss, thank you, I have been watching from the sidelines, but have jumped in at last.

I always think of you when I'm running, looking around and imagining how you would describe things in your special way. Will look out for your next 'ramble' and hope your training plan is going well.

Happy running to you. xx

Stepping stones, week 9 AND hills! The time on the IC hasn't dampened your ability or your enthusiasm then!😊Lovely to see your post and great to hear the shoulder is on the mend Jan.

Only baby steps at the moment, having fun trying to think of ways to push myself while still getting some stamina back...😊

I loved what you wrote on Irish Johns post about the ripple this morning. True about John, but many others have that effect on this forum too. We do all run together. xxx

Thank you Ip,

there was no way I wasn't going to get back out there. We all put in a lot of work to get to graduation don't we, and being able to enjoy runs like today is the payoff.😊

Happy running to you.xx
