Feeling like I'm getting somewhere ... slow and steady!

I'm still consolidating running for 30 mins (graduated in August) and have been concerned that I would never be able to run for longer than 30 mins. However, having had my daily fix of this site (well, several fixes a day actually!) I have taken the advice to just slow down and build my stamina and today I ran for 31 mins and felt fine. It may not sound like a lot but the major difference is that I now believe that I can run for longer than 30 mins! This new injection of self belief has done wonders for my confidence. So, who knows, when I go for my next run on Friday, I might make it to a 35 min run- I believe I can, anyway! Thank you to everyone on this site for the words of wisdom and encouragement. Its great to be part of a large caring family .

Brilliant effort! The first few runs after graduation are a uncharted waters and can lead to a bit of panic or frustration. Consolidation and slow build up is the key to future fun adventures, looks like you've hit the nail squarely on the head! Good luck to you fellow August Graduate!

Well done.

You can run for as long as you want, if you train for it.

It is normally best just to increase the length of just one run per week, to avoid overdoing it.

Keep running, keep smiling.
