I did it!! I completed week 5 run 3! Thanks everyone who encouraged me to go for it. Think id have talked myself out of it without your support. I know future runs will be tough but I have more self belief now. :D

Yes! Well done. Just sitting in the garden to cool down having completed the same run. It is still so hot here.

Now I feel like a runner!!!

I know there's more to do but psychologically that has tipped those gremlins right to the back of my brain.

See you in week 6 xx

Haha that's a great way to describe it. Let's beat those gremlins!

Keep me updated on how you do if you don't mind. It's kind of fun and motivating knowing someone's suffering the same level (or not) on the same day lol.

I'm out for that one tomorrow and like you, feel if I can run for 20 mins, I can do anything! Will keep you posted. Congrats, enjoy a rest day👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥇🏃🏼‍♀️

It sounds cliche but positive thinking really does help. So remember you CAN do it :) I use to have to play word games in my mind to distract myself so I could manage one minute at the start lol. So if I've got this far anyone can 😂

Me too, attempting the Twenty Minuter tomorrow... We can do it, right?!

Of course you can! And if you dont then no big deal you'll get there. I say that so we dont weigh ourselves down with pressure but think positive! I have new found belief that this programme knows what it's doing. :)

Let us know how you get on.

Yep, positive thinking and a preparation regime second to none.

We have all seen people preparing for a marathon, carbing up the night before. Well, knowing I'm out for 20 in the morning, and mindful of lots of posts regarding fluids, I'm on a strict hour by hour super hydration plan. If I can stop running to the bathroom and get some sleep, I will be all set!!

I am 3.5 hours behind most of you in UK so you are probably in bed and will read this bright and early, while I sleep. So good luck to all those week 5 warriors crossing the line just ahead of me. I will be sure to update you later👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🏃🏼‍♀️🐢

Well done, it's so good to hear that 20 mins is possible! I've just done the W5r2 today and although very slowly those 8 mins were doable. I can't quite get my head round how I go from 8 mins to 20!!! Trust the program and just don't stop I guess😬

angel43 you didn't just run for 8 minutes you ran for 16 minutes with a 5 minute continuation walk in between!! You are doing yourself a disservice, which makes W5R3 seem insurmountable - it is not!

The longer runs seem scary, but after the first few minutes of those pesky gremlins telling you you can't, you will get into your stride with a nice rhythm. Completing W5 is a great feeling that I wish everyone could experience, because it is only then that people start to believe in themselves.
