I have got up to W5R1 in the programme this morning, and whilst I can feel the difference in my stamina I am a bit disappointed in any significant changes to my weight. I have been much more careful with my diet and cut out a lot of the bad stuff yet I have only lost 2 lbs over the last 4 weeks, bearing in mind I am probably about 5 stone overweight! I understand that muscle development will counteract weight loss to some extent but I don't feel like things are moving quickly enough in this aspect.
Can someone with more knowledge in this area than me offer any ideas please? Or is there anyone else who has experienced something similar?

Keep going BaggieGibbo...as you get further into the program and the runs become longer..thats when you notice you are firming up and losing some weight hopefully. Once you can run for 30 mins (and you will) you will notice a difference.
Changes in your stamina means you are getting fitter. Keep going with the healthy eating and running and you will be leaner soon too😊x
You're burning about 200 calories each run during the first few weeks. One piece of toast. Running in itself is not going to help you lose weight. Most folks here who have lost weight will achieve it through C25K, some form of calorie-controlled diet and increasing focus on their wellbeing. Once you can run for 30 minutes or an hour, the calories expended running will start to have some effect.
Interesting query! Especially as i am 'looking forward' to week 5 next week. I think I am changing shape slightly, not losing weight. At first I got very hungry and tired (and anxious? And sleepless? Related? Who knows) and am now craving food less and feeling full of energy and am less anxious and sleepless. So all I know is I'm doing something different and getting different results.. Cant draw a straight cause and effect line - yet. guess all this might change again. Good luck - stay curious, I say.
