Having graduated a few weeks ago and keeping up with 3 x 30(ish) mins runs a week I decided today's run would be my first 5k+ podcast, Stepping Stones.
It was good to be out with Laura again and we set off at a pace that I thought was very comfortable. Even when she upped it a bit I thought it wasn't too bad, but boy did I find it hard once I'd been running for about 20 mins. I think it must be the discipline of sticking to a regular pace that I found so tiring. I know this will eventually help with distance and speed but I finished with the reddest face so far!
Do you people doing 5k+ alternate the podcasts or do you concentrate on one at a time before moving on?

After I graduated.. i did lots of runs just for pure joy Then did each of the podcast + in turn... one week of three runs, of Stepping Stones.. one week , three runs of Speed, and then one week, three runs of Stamina... I just wanted to really experience them and see which I enjoyed.. and felt would benefit my running. ( I am bit of a pedant though :))
Stepping Stones... I found odd.. (I think it is a bit like Marmite...) you either love it or dislike it.. it was okay, but I found it weird.. I loved Speed.. still do, and use it when I am short of time, want a speedy blast of a run, or in another run and Stamina is great.
I use that a lot, either on its own.. as now, within a 10K revisited plan I am doing, or within other runs.. I think I went a bit overboard on Speed and Stamina because they really suited me and helped to progress my running
I am sure you will get lots of different responses Either way, choose what suits you, and rest easy, they do benefit and impact on our running progress x
It is great to share our experiences and what we find out on our running journey about ourselves I have learned and still do learn so much It is a great forum
There are three podcasts so I mix them up. It's a good idea as it gets your legs all discombobulated, but in a good way. Laura will give you the beat 🏃♀️
I graduated a few weeks ago and tried the 5k+ podcasts but I found them too fast for me. I did the first k in < 6 mins, and that was before it sped up. If I kept the pace up I would have done a sub 30 mins 5k but I am not up to that speed, which is probably why only halfway though I got winded and had to slow to a walk for a few mins to get my breath back. Is that the point of them, to get you doing a sub 30m 5k? If so, maybe in a few weeks I will try again if I have sped up a bit by then.
