So today I thought I would try Stepping Stones post graduation!
Not going to lye it was tough! I ran for as long as I possibly could but still had to do some walking! The route I choose was a private road with in two minutes you leave the town behind and you are in a lane in the countryside! I ran along with Steve Cram in my ears!
Now I had chosen this route because it’s not flat with a big hill at the half way point!
Before you went on holiday I had really been struggling with my Asthma and Hayfever! Today I was running for longer distances and walking for shorter distances! My pace even though I try to keep my pace down I was running sub 9 minutes intervals!
Though I didn’t run the whole 35 minutes I did run half way up the big hill which I hadn’t done for along time but when I heard the halfway bell I turned round and run back the way I came! The whole run felt much more comfortable and i run my fastest 5k so far this year! Bonus was seeing a swan family paddling up the river with 3 Sygnets all fluff and grey!
So my next run I will be running this step again!

Thank you! I will repeat it as I know I need to get back to running the full 35 mins! I would probably done it on my normal route as it’s almost all flat! I am trying to strengthen my running and improve my cardio fitness by doing this!
Well done to you... I remember someone telling me after I had started the C25K+ podcasts that they were more challenging than folk supposed. teaching us so much about the new running skills we were acquiring .
I know that i found Stepping Stones really tricky...and never got to grips with it at all...Stamina and Speed... i really loved and used/use those still, sometimes, to shake things up.
Great run BGood ! It doesn’t matter that you didn’t run it all-you can build up to that. They’re supposed to be helpful coaching for post Couch to 5k running…adapt as suits you!
Thank you! You have to mix it up otherwise it gets boring 😴! From my garmin that things are improving! Now trying out some different strength workouts to help with niggley IT band and glutes! Really felt like a run today but made myself not in favour of strength training! I will let you know how it goes
Well done, hills are my nemesis but are really good for stamina. I never did the stepping stones so can’t comment but just getting out there and keeping up the running is what counts.
