Hi everybody,

Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week !

Morning Rfc, hope you and OH are doing good!

I did a 11k run down the canalside yesterday, my furthest run so far. Parts of the canal have a cycle path about 10 yards back from the canal. Its not flat but follows the lie of the land, in places some quite steep inclines. I found i got a bit board on the flat, so where I could I used the more undulating cycle route. Now there's a surprise! I guess its because i live and run in an hilly area so its what Im more used to.

Happy running all!

Morning, all :) . This week, in fact tomorrow evening if all goes to plan, I will be doing my 5k Virtual Run in support of Brake which is a road safety charity. My last two runs went well and I have finally managed to run 5k without stopping for any walking breaks. Truly mind over matter and slowing down to a barely running creep at times but still running :) . Hoping to repeat this for Brake, in my lovely bright orange teeshirt, and with my friend Shirl by my side.

Have just heard on the radio about these 5k runs in case anyone around Derby, Leicester Nottingham is interested. It doesnt look as though it is a timed event, there is a tshirt and bling.

I did the first run of week 9 this morning! Overall it was fantastic - I sped up a lot for the second half and was able to keep up the pace without exhausting myself. On the other hand, I did get an awful stitch that turned into agonising cramping in my shoulder and neck when I tried to get rid of it (no idea what was going on there) but I managed to keep going, somewhat lopsided, until the pain eased.

And now I'm feeling great and very excited to finish :D

I can't actually at this point remember when my last run was! :( Headache last Tuesday, parents' evening at school last Thursday, no chance to run this weekend... Actually that's not quite true. I could have gone out on Sunday evening but decided to be kind to myself. Life is busy and very stressful at the moment, and although running is a great de-stresser generally, sometimes it's just One Thing Too Many to fit in... :-(

Can't go running tonight. Maybe another night soon...

Hi I'm on week 3 run 3 which I hope to complete tomorrow morning before work failing that tomorrow evening straight after work. I have never run before and am gratified to find I don't feel too puffed but my knees do hurt a bit but I am keeping stretching and resting and hope to improve slowly but steadily. I am finding all the posts very helpful and inspiring and you have all become my lunchtime read! Thanks

PB in my Parkrun today but that's not a great achievement as it was only my second time (glossing over the one I tried to run after having cereal for breakfast then quit after it came back 3 or 4 times!) Pleased to complete it almost without ever dropping to a walk as it was only my third 5k since graduating in February (skiing holiday and cold/chest infection intervened).
